I’ve spent 20+ years across engineering, product, speaking, and talent. The first 8 were in corporate engineering at IBM and McAfee, where I also held an offer from Microsoft. Early on, I noticed something that stuck with me: there’s a hidden pathway into the world’s best companies and roles — one that has little to do with the well-known route of attending elite institutions. Some people find it; most never see it.
Coming from humble beginnings myself, finding that pathway was life-changing — and it raised a question I kept coming back to: what if everyone could see it? How many talented people miss these opportunities simply because no one ever showed them the way?
That observation became a life pursuit. Over years, using frameworks, patterns, and a lot of trial and error, I worked to decode that hidden pathway and turn it into something repeatable — a way to gradually “change your orbit” and move toward the top 1% in the tech industry. I didn’t keep it theoretical. I used it to help engineers do exactly that, in several cases helping them step into dramatically stronger roles and compensation.
The deeper I went, the more I realised the same patterns weren’t unique to tech — they applied across industries.
